My name is Mike Kruiper and live in the Netherlands and am 34 at the moment of writing. This site is all about aviation in all its forms, though the emphasis will be on airshows. On this site you can find, videos, photos, reports and interviews to give you an in depth view of what goes on at airshows and the aviation world. When I was young I always wanted to be a pilot, but that is something that didn't happen, my love for planes however, stayed. I got into photography at a young age, photographing just about everything. I loved to go to airports and airshows when I was young and still do. I started photographing with a compact camera, where the planes in the skies were tiny dots, but you could make decent shots of the static planes. At a certain point I wanted more, certainly after seeing the photos on Sky-flash.com by EJ van Koningsveld, and bought my first SLR camera, the Minolta 404si and got better shots. I only recently stepped over to Digital SLR, my first was a second hand Canon EOS300D and now I use a Nikon D80 with a 70-300mm VR 3.5-5.6 lens and the 18-55mm VR 3.5-5.6 lens. With this site I hope to show people that you don't need the biggest lens or most expensive camera on the planet to make great photos. (It might help though) For Web design: A free program called Komodo Edit 5.2.
The photo of me next to the red plane is made by Jos Bornhijm and is copyright (c)2009 JHB Fotografie (click on the name to go this site). A big thanks to Jos for taking the photo and ACVT Teuge for supplying the plane. |
