The mini-interview I had with the director of the Royal Jordanian Falcons is online. Read it down here, it was supposed to be a watchable video, but the noise of the F-16 (which was doing a demo during the interview), doesn't make for an enjoyable watch. So a text-transcript is placed down here. A big thanks to the Royal Jordanian Falcons for letting me conduct the interview.

AM = Col. Al-Momani Mohammed TS = Throttle and Stick

TS: Could you tell me a little about yourself, what is it you do for the Royal Jordanian Falcons.

AM: I am Colonel Al-Momani Mohammed. I am the Royal Jordanian Falcons team director. I have been in the airforce for 24 years as a fighter pilot and i've been posted as the team director since 2 years

TS: What's it like to be back in the Netherlands? You have been here so many times.

AM: Actually, we like being in the Netherlands and doing airshows in the Netherlands, because we have good friends and people in the Netherlands are very enthusiastic towards our team.

TS: What is the selection procedure like?

AM: For the pilots, they are airforce pilots, fighter pilots, they go through a screening during the phase of choosing the pilots and we select the best pilots out of the airforce pilots and they stay with the Royal Jordanian Falcons for something like 3 to 4 years depending on the needs of the team.

TS: How does the Extra-300 handle? Is it quite easy to fly?

AM: As a matter a fact it is not easy to handle, but it is within our capabilities, cause as I told you, our pilots are experienced pilots. So we depend alot on the training, we take our time and we give our pilots enough training which enables them to handle the airplane really well before they get into the line to do a display.

TS: How much time goes into preparing for an airshow?

AM: We spend something like 3 to 4 months every year before doing the summer tour and we spend the rest of the year training the team for some airshows in Jordan and some Arab countries like the United Arab Emirates.

TS: What do you do to keep a display fresh and new?

As far as we are concerned we always try to introduce new manuevers, so people who know the Falcons and fans of the Falcons, they know what type of performance we do, they never get bored because we introduce new maneuvers and a new sequence for the aerobatics that we carry out every year.
